Walter Joe “W.J.” Book
Funeral services for Mr. Walter Joe "W. J." "Dubby" Book, age 56, of Jonesville, were held at New Life Pentecostal Church in
Manifest on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Norris Poole, Bro.
Junior Trisler, Bro. Lloyd Trisler, Bro. Gary Waggoner, Bro. Barry Hamilton,
and Bro. David Poole officiating.
Interment followed at White’s Cemetery south of Jonesville under the direction of Young's Funeral Home in
Jonesville.
Mr. Book was born October 31, 1952, in Harrisonburg, and passed from this life Monday, April 20, 2009, at Lane
Regional Medical Center in Zachary, LA.
W. J. was an avid airplane enthusiast and car collector. He loved camping and
fishing with his wife, and cooking for friends and family.
He never met a stranger, and had the ability to light up a room with his
presence.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Andrew "W. A." "Dub" Book; his paternal grandparents, Walter E. and Delia Briggs Book; and his maternal grandparents, Joseph and Ethel Hamilton Tooley.
W. J. is survived by his wife, Kay Book of Jonesville; his mother, Dora Hamilton
Book of Manifest; his son Joey Book of Dundee, Mich.; and his daughters,
Crystal Charrier and her husband Kent of Vidalia, and Jennifer Renfrow and her
husband Ron of Manifest.
He is also survived by five brothers, Randy and wife Deborah Book of Columbia,
S.C., Gary Book of Sherwood, Ark., Rickey Book of Singapore, Tommy and wife
Donna Book of Jonesville, La., and Larry and wife Helen Book of Kula Lumpur;
and two sisters, Linda and husband Robert Doughty of Monaca, Pa., and Sue and
husband David Bains of Mountainbrook, Ala.
Also surviving W. J. are three grandsons, Dusty Book, Hunter Renfrow, and Nathan
Renfrow, and four granddaughters, Brittany Charrier, Monica Charrier, Eryn Book
and Kailey Renfrow; 18 nieces and nephews, 15 great-nieces and
-nephews.
The pallbearers were Daren Doughty, Scott Doughty, B. J. Book, Jonathan Book,
Kris Coleman, Jr. Cotten, David Gordon, and Robert Cotten.
The honorary pallbearers were Lawrence Chapman, Bucky and Tyler Wiley, Pat McCain, Vernon Fletcher, Donald White, Robert Doughty, David
Bains, Oshkosh Buddies and Walter King.

Lucille Gibson Spinks
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Gibson Spinks, age 83, of West Monroe, LA were held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Jonesville, on Friday, April 24,
2009, at 10 AM with Bro. Mickey Hudnell and Bro. Dennis Relaford
officiating.
Interment followed at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, under the direction of Young's
Funeral Home in Jonesville.
Mrs. Spinks was born April 11, 1926, in Trinity, LA, the daughter of Roy C.
Renfrow and Bertha O. Chapman Renfrow, and passed from this life Tuesday, April
21, 2009, in
Ruston.
She was a resident of West Monroe and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Spinks was preceded in death by her husband, W. B. Spinks, and her husband,
Charles David Gibson, Sr., and her son, Charles David Gibson, Jr., and two
brothers,
Rev. C. B. Renfrow and Walter Renfrow.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda and her husband Jerry Collier of West
Monroe; her brother Bud Renfrow of Jonesville; her sister Rose Williams of
Jonesville; her step-son Sunny Spinks of Jonesville and step-daughter Bobbie
Coon of Belle Chasse, La.
She is also survived by two grandchildren, Lee Gibson Collier and Charles David
Gibson III, and 2 great-grandchildren, Kaitlin and Victoria Collier.
Pallbearers were Bill Cockerham, Shelby Beasley, Gary Williams, Charles Renfrow,
Wendel Gibson and David Carpenter.

Jimmie Bradford
Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie W. Bradford were held at 10 AM Sunday, April 26,
2009, at the Pritchard Baptist Church with Revs. Joey Paul and Terry Doughty
officiating.
Interment followed in the Woodland Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson
Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
Mr. Bradford, age 82, was born October 25, 1926, the son of James Wesley and
Lillian Paul Bradford, and passed from this life on April 24, 2009, at his
residence in Jonesville.
Mr. Bradford was a farmer, he loved to fish and hunt, was a member of Pritchard Baptist Church on Old River and served in the U.S. Navy during World
War II.
He is survived by one son Ted Bradford and his wife Nora of Jena; three daughters, Cherry Couvillion and her husband Bill of Lafayette; Janice Bernard and her husband Mike of Jena; Mary Fralick and her
husband Brent of
Pineville; as well as ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Bradford was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Chevallier Bradford, four brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Travis Bradford, Will Bradford, Darrell McDowell, Derrek
McDowell, Danny McDowell and Samuel Rhymes.
